An update for the review of Never Say Never

Hello everyone! Well I just wanted to let everyone know that the book that I reviewed earlier today is being revised. It was called Never Say Never by Melinda Sutherland. I chatted with her earlier and she has told me that she is revising it and will have it back up ASAP. I for one can't wait to read it again and see how much better it is. So keep an eye out on Amazon for Never Say Never part 1 by Melinda Sutherland to be put back up and give it a read.

Never Say Never part 1 by Melinda Sutherland

Book Description

 March 21, 2013
Amanda goes through her young life having to survive experiences that nobody should have to. She was always quiet and found it easier to keep to herself, rather than share herself with the world. She struggled with being open up and talking to anyone about what was invading her life, in her heart she believed it was much easier to keep her secrets to herself. Sometimes sharing your deepest and darkest with someone you love is the only way to free yourself.
Will she ever be able to find that someone? Do the trials of her adolescent make her stronger in the end? Or will her world be turned upside down and she’ll be crushed under the weight of her love for another? Can she recover from the unthinkable? Will Amanda be able to pull though and find the one thing she’s always longed for and never really had…love?

My review:  3 stars

Ok, so this review is really hard for me. This book touched me on a personal side and I absolutely loved the story line and related so much to the main character, Amanda. I liked that Amanda was telling her story and showing that she wanted to be a strong person and survive what life had dealt her. ***Just a tiny spoiler here*** I also thought is was great that one of Amanda's best friends is a guy and this is something that few people believe can really happen let alone write about in books. I say this because most people think if a guy is a girls best friend then there is more to it I found this very true when I was in high school and everyone thought that my best friend and I were more than just friends.

Now the thing I didn't like about the book is there were a lot of mistakes in grammar and sentence structure and it made it very hard to read and understand what was going on. I found myself rereading parts sometimes going back a page to reread trying to get what was being written. At times it was a little confusing and with having to reread parts it effected the emotions that could have been brought out in the story. I also had to put it down a few times and then come back to finish reading it. The good thing beside the story line is that Amanda's character was strong enough to make you want to finish reading the book to see if she overcame the obstacles life sent her way.

With part 1 being in the title you know that the story continues and I do plan on reading it. I want to find out what happens with Amanda and this book does leave you with a cliff hanger wondering what happens. I do hope that there are less mistakes in the next part and it is more fluent so that I can really enjoy the story. I think Melinda Sutherland has great potential as a writer and I wish her success in the future and can't wait to read the next part and see how she has grown as a writer. She truly has a talent for story telling.

Where to buy:

First a message from Niecey herself that she posted on her facebook page:
Warning: If you are looking for the perfect heroine all wrapped up in a bow, you will not find one in Fender Bender Blues. If you enjoy a dose of real, a quirky hot mess and a hero who flips a brat switch the heroine's didn't know she had, then come join the fun :)

My Review: 5 stars
Who knew lip gloss could be so dangerously wonderful. Want to understand that statement then read this book.

Rachel struggled with things in her life and was searching for what makes her happy. She was looking for a new career and didn't want distractions of any kind. She is a fun character and I loved her. She is what my mom would call a spitfire, full of energy and fiesty. She just seemed like a real person that you would find in everyday life. Unlike some characters I have read she is not perfect and has her faults but she is real. Some people have said she is rude, childish, and just  bad but you find that in life and you may even have a friend or Know someone like that and that is what make the character come to life. Craig is the main male character and he is wealthy & a successful business owner. Although I like him he is a little cocky at times and works way to much. Again, this makes his character come to life because he seems real unlike the perfect gorgeous men you find in a lot of love stories. Rach's best friend, Leah is who kind of keeps Rach under control and their friendship is something that I think everyone should have and Craig is the brother of Leah's boyfriend. Ha! Ha!

So, without to much of a spoiler this is not the typical love story where you know from the start that everyone is perfect and they all fall in love right away. It seems like Rach & Craig love to hate each other but it makes the story fun. Niecey Roy knows how to tell a story and balances the right amount of fun and sexiness together. I actually love this book so much that I have read it twice. I call it my good mood book because if I need to be put in a good mood this will do it. I look forward to reading more from Niecey and you can bet that when she has something new come out you will know about it from here. So, go buy a copy and read it then you can decide for yourself if you like or hate Rachel and find out why lip gloss can be dangerous and should come with it's own warning label. ;)

My review: 5 stars
First off let me just say if you have not read "Where I Need to Be" which is the first book in this series then go get it now and read it.What are you waiting for? Do not finish this until you do. Kimberly Knight did not disappoint me with this one. It was AMAZING!!!! She has super sexy hot models Joe Marvullo and Kari Jo Goodwin on the steamy cover and the writing carries that hot, sexy, steamy feel right on through. Brandon and Spencer are a sexy couple that just can't keep their hands off each other and I could feel their love coming out of my Kindle and let me just say I may never look at a Macy's dressing room the same. That was making my blood boil and me squirm.  Kimberly really knows what she is doing and can write so that not only you relate to the characters but you can feel their emotions. If it is a steamy sex scene then she has your body temp rising and blood boiling. If it is a scene filled with drama then your heart is racing and ready to jump out of your chest. The characters from the first book come back in this one and Brandon's womanizing wild brother, Blake is introduced too. I want to see what he will bring to the next book and see if Stacey will be come back in to the story. What's next for Brandon & Spencer? Will there be a baby come in to the story? Who the hell was at the door? LOL I know do you?  Can't wait for the next book which is planned to come out later this year.

Where to buy:  Amazon

My review: 4 stars
HOT! HOT! HOT! IF you want a sexy, steamy, hot little read then this is for you. It had me blushing and squirming. So if you read the book description from Amazon which I posted above you know that Luca and Mari make a meet online. Where does the name 'The List: Book 1' come well there is a "list" that I would like to get my hands on and you are going to have to read this to find out what is on it. All I will say is OMG! Braxton Cole knows how to write hot & steamy scenes. I swear I could see the steam coming from my kindle. While reading it I was thanking her for sending it to me to review. The only thing I did not like about it was that it just ended no real warning but it did leave you wanting more. If I didn't know it was a series from the cover where is said Book 1 I would have hated it. Knowing it was a series made me feel a little better. It may just be me but I like when a story is wrapped up a little more. I don't mind cliffhangers when you know it is a series but it just seemed like an abrupt end. Over all I liked it and can't wait to see what else is on Luca and Mari's "list" and what happens with their "relationship".

Hope you enjoy my review and go pick up your own copy of 'Birthday Wishes' and maybe make a list of your own.

Two for One review

Ok, so for this review I am doing TWO books by ONE wonderful author. I have the honor of being in a group on facebook with her and to shorten this story we were chatting one night and I told her I had bought Three of Spades and then realized it was the second book in a series. So, I had to read the first, Three of Hearts. I admit I only wanted to read Three of Hearts so that I didn't come in to the middle of the series and the description of Three of Spades on Amazon had me wanting to read it.  I couldn't wait so here are  my reviews for each book.

 September 17, 2012
Mae Turney is searching for the type of life and happiness she has never known but has only dreamed about. She's fortunate enough to find a great opportunity to live in an exterior apartment of a beautiful lake house in a small town in Vermont. When she realizes the apartment and scenery are not the only gorgeous appeal but the home owner, Seth Finn, is as well, she puts it all on the line for the chance at love. When she becomes comfortable and confident in her own skin and sexuality, Mae realizes that this place and this man is exactly what she came looking for. Knowing Seth and his three children are as special as they come, Mae bets the house, and prays she and her gamble are enough.

My review: 4 stars
I enjoyed this book. I loved that the main female character wasn't described as the typical gorgeous skinny girl but as a pleasantly plump with lots of curves girl who didn't realize she was sexy. It was also a change for the main male character to fall for the "plump" girl and want to make her feel sexy and let her know he thought she was. There were some VERY HOT & sexy scenes but through most of it I didn't feel the emotions really. Then towards the end redemption came and so did the emotions! It was very sweet and had some "OMG!" moments. Now on to the next book in this series.

Book Description

 February 1, 2013
Dylan Cross is the type of man that enjoys everything female, and enjoy it he does, but always on his terms. However, his terms are pushed to their limit when Natalie Parker proposes an offer; teach her and her delectable little body, all about sex and desire. There is one catch. He has to play the part of Natalie’s madly in love boyfriend for her dying mother. Dylan signs on, and finds that separating the two is harder than he thought. Natalie’s days of shyness and lack of confidence come to a quick close as she learns what her body craves and demands in the bedroom. Soon, Dylan becomes the student as Natalie teaches him things he didn’t even know he wanted. Will Hamden’s notorious playboy, bachelor be able to keep calling the shots, or will he find that, he, himself, is just another player at the card game of life, as we all are?

My review: 5 stars
OMG! This was AMAZING right from the start. I LOVED IT! Just can't say enough good things about it. Natalie is a shy, innocent kindergarten teacher who wants to taught about sex and make her dying mother think she has found true love. Dylan is the town playboy who is a hot, badboy who loves females and takes Natalie up on her offer to teach her everything about sex and desire. They both teach each other things and the story is just hot, sexy and full of emotion. It will have you breathing heavy one minute, laughing at the banter between characters the next and then grieving a second later. There is a lot of description in it which helps to make you feel like you have traveled to the small little town of Hamden.

Over all both books were good and the stories were great love stories. Although at times Three of Hearts may have been a bit slow I thought it was good for a debut novel but Three of Spades makes up for it. After reading it I fell in love with the men of Hamden and feel like friends with the ladies. With the little teaser of the next book Three of Diamonds at the end of Three of Spades I am ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY going to reading to read it. W.Ferraro I am so excited about it I can't stand the torture of having to wait to learn more about the hotties of Hamden.

Update: As of June 2013 the Hamden Series has new covers. To get these books with the new covers click on the picture of the book and it will take you to the link to buy it.

My Review: 5 stars

My first thoughts as I was reading this on my Kindle was that it was going to be a little dull but that only lasted for about the first 5% of the book (maybe) then it was OH MY GOODNESS! I didn't want to put it down. Wreck Me is a must read! It had me laughing out loud (getting strange looks from my family) and then balling like a baby. Really, I think I used an entire box of tissues, I fell in love with Damon, Jo, & Grams. Oh and I can't forget Captian, even a grumpy old man deserves some love. J.L. Mac made the characters come to life and made you feel like they were part of your life. The emotions ran wild and had you feeling happy, sad, angry, and loved.

Jo (Josephine) has had a horrible life and most people would have just gave up a long time ago. She is tough, independent, sarcastic, and uses sex to forget things. She doesn't do relationships of any kind (at least that is what she tells herself) for fear of being hurt.

Damon is well no other way to say. He is a Greek God, Knight in shining armor, and sexy. He is cocky, bossy, domineering, and wealthy. He comes in to Jo's life and makes her realize things about herself and her life that she never dreamed but... is he to good to be true?

Damon & Jo's story pulled at your heart. It had you hoping for the happily ever after and I must say I just knew that this book was going to have a happy ending. I'M WARNING YOU NOW if you don't want to know anything about the ending STOP reading NOW! J.L. Mac HOW COULD YOU! I mean the torture, yes folks, it's a cliffhanger and that is all I will say.

Absolutely a wonderful story and I can't wait for Restore Me to find out what the future holds for Damon and Jo. I know that I won't be disappointed. Congratulations on a wonderful book J.L. Mac and I look forward to reading more of your work.

and soon at her website

It started with a book.

I just wanted to take a few minutes and introduce myself. My name is Stacy and I LOVE books of all kinds. I am not one of those who only reads fiction, romance or mystery. I like it all! I am new to blogging but this all got started with a book. You see, I have a friend who is writing her first book and one day we were talking about books and things (this was before I knew she was even writing one) and she told me she was working on a book and asked if I would be interested in reading it and letting her know what I thought. I was all for it. So after talking with her and a few other friends that I was always talking to about books they all thought I should start blogging about the books I read. That is how this has come about.
Now my hope for this blog is to spread the word about the books and authors that I love. Like I said this is all new but I have some ideas about things and I hope that I can share my love of books with people. I may also from time to time post some things about models that are on some of my favorite books. I hope to have my first author up with in the next week. So I hope you will keep coming back to see what I am reading.

This is a work in progress. I will be talking about books I love and authors too. Of course I could add anything I want because it's mine. So just bare with me as I get it up and running. Check back soon to see what's up.
