Private Message by Danielle Torella

Synopsis:
Tess has never had sex. Believe it or not, she’s never had a decent kiss.
The aspiring Seattle painter and photographer is still recovering from the trauma of being beaten and nearly raped at a rock show nearly three years before. So she keeps life simple: she goes to school, goes to work in a coffee shop, goes home, goes on living.
But then Ben’s naked body crashes—almost literally—through Tess’s wall against the world.
Ben is doing his dad’s art-teacher girlfriend a favor when he agrees to pose nude for her drawing class. But what he draws is the interest of the irresistible punk-looking girl—and it’s interest he reciprocates, with interest.

Their sexual chemistry is too much to resist. But it’s when they have their clothes on that their heat quickly slips on ice. Ben’s womanizing history is one thing, but it’s history of another kind—related to that fateful night at the rock show—that threatens to tear the young lovers apart forever.

Mr review: 5 stars
Ok so, this book has been on my mind for a while know. I have been wanting to get my hands on this for sometime now. I was online one day and not even real sure how but it all started but I think I commented on a picture or a post on Facebook ( it is very possible that that it had to do with Joe Marvullo) and then I am chatting with this lady who is an author working on her first book. We became friends on Facebook and I learned more about her book and really got excited about it because it seemed so different. Now she has posted little teasers and things and I was just getting sucked in more and more. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book. SQUEEEEE!!! I was so happy yesterday when I found it was in my inbox. I wanted to start it right then. I actually did read a few pages but I had to stop (sad face) because I was at the gym and well I am not talented enough to read and workout to. Anywho, so I finally get home and get to really start reading it at least for a little bit until my family got over to spend some time with a few of our favorite vets. When I had to stop I was not happy the book was so good I didn't want to put it down. I fell in love with Tess right away. She is the creative, independent female lead who has never had sex. WHAT?!?! In her 20's and never had sex? OK respect that girl for knowing what she wants and doesn't want and staying true to herself. Then we meet Erin who will become the best friends in 5 seconds. It's great when you meet someone and just click. She is a little crazy but you know from the start that she is just a great friend. In comes Ben. SWOON... Ben is a tall, dark, tattooed, and sexy as hell man who is a bad boy with a reputation. The characters are all great and with they way Danielle tells the story from both Tess and Ben's view you really get to know them and they become more real. The story is different and there was a twist I never saw coming. I was smiling and laughing through most of it and then feeling sad as you find out more about the past of Tess and Ben. Then there is the HOLY CRAP moment but you have to read it to find out because I will not spoil it. It was a great book and I admit I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning reading it and really thought about turning the laptop on and writing the review then but was afraid with my excitement and sleepiness it might be crazy and hard to understand. I did send out a few messages because I couldn't hold it all in and had to tell someone how awesome it was. Congratulations Danielle Torella on a fantastic debut book and look forward to reading more of your work.

My review and a little story to boot: 5 stars

I had the honor to be asked to read an ARC of this book and be a beta reader for the author. No actually it wasn't even an ARC yet it was more like a manuscript because she didn't have the ARC copies ready yet. How did this come about you ask? Well, I had reconnected with a childhood friend on facebook and we found out that we both had a love for reading. Go figure! So in one of our conversations I said something about reading a book for an author friend and that she would have to read it as soon as it came out. That got us talking about me being a beta reader, blogger, and reviewing books. Anywho, so one day she contacts me and says " I have a friend who has written a book". My first thought " uh oh I may be in trouble" but I said "really that's cool" and then she asks if I would be interested in reading it (yep this could be a problem) and telling the woman what I thought. She went on telling me how she thought it was really good. So, me being me and liking to help out my friends in anyway I can, I told her sure I would. Then I let her know that if I didn't like it I would tell them but if I liked it then I would help spread the word about it. Now, remember this was a finished story and she was just wanting an opinion on it before she published it. I knew it was her first book and honestly was not expecting much even though I had been told by a long time friend that it was a really good book. Now in the past this friend of mine was very honest with people and it was one of the things I remembered most and loved about her, but it has been ages since we even talked until a year or so ago so I wasn't sure if she was just pushing this book because it was her friend. So, I started it not expecting much and just hoping that I didn't have to tell either of them that it sucked. After just the first page I was so into the book that I was tuning everything else out completely. I was amazed! Left speechless even. Have you ever read a book that the story was just so emotional it left your hurting but in a good way? Where you wished you could just step inside the book and be right there with the characters. I say characters but they seemed more like real people, friends even and I wanted my friendship to continue with them. It was so much better than I was told. I mean I was told it was really good that was a LIE it was amazing! I don't want to give anything away so it is hard to really tell you what all was amazing about it with out spoiling it. It is a very emotional book and has some touchy subject in it. I don't want to spoil anything at all, but I will say that it has you laughing in parts, and I mean I was laughing so hard I was crying. Then crying with your heart actually aching for the characters and wanting to just step in the book and give them a great big hug. Then it has your heart racing and wondering what is going to happen next.  I knew a little more of that background on it and I was still yelling WTH and NO, NO, NO DON'T DO THAT! Ya know in the horror movies where the girl is in the house alone (or so she thinks) and you know the creepy scary guy with the ax is there and she runs UP THE STAIRS! Yea dumb how you gonna get down and away now and you are yelling at her not to go up the stairs. It had some of those feelings in there too. It's got lust, love, hot sex, smiles, and thrills. It really was an amazing book and I am SOOOOOO GLAD I READ IT! I did actually read the ARC version because the book was so amazing that there was only one small part that was changed and it made it even better. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. M.S. Willis is an author to expect great things from with this being an amazing first book. Since I know she is going to read this congratulations M.S. Willis on one hell of an amazing debut book and the world is yours for the taking (insert evil minion laugh) YOU RULE!

Cover Reveal: House of Cards by K. Pinson

Isn't this an awesome cover. I love it and I can't wait to read this book. Y'all know I LOVE Daxton James.

Synopsis: Subject to change, unedited.---
Daxton James holds the world in the palm of his hands. He finally met the love of his life and was more than ready to start a family with her and her precious daughter, Abby. He had the best friends that anyone could ask for, a career doing two things he loved the most-music and helping people and his family piecing themselves back together, slowly but surely. Everything had fallen into place in his life and he couldn't be more happy about it.
There is only one problem---He can’t remember any of it.
Daxton was involved in a serious accident which has left him fighting for his life, while his loved ones wait in the midst, unsure if he is even going to come out of it alive. Thankfully he does, but his short term memory can’t say the same. He only remembers the Daxton he had been years previous. The playboy, the rock star and hopelessly devoted to a woman that is not Avalynn Wright.
The doctors tell Avalynn to just let his memory come back on its own and to not push him too much, fearful that forcing his memory will cause permanent scarring and trauma. Avalynn is so thankful to have Daxton alive, that if letting him go will keep him happy and healthy, she will do just that, even if it means killing off herself; bit by bit. Avalynn struggles to grasp on what is a reality and what is created by the stresses of her life causing her to downwards spiral, with nobody to break her fall.

Will Avalynn and Daxton make it through this or is their relationship built only as strong as a House of Cards, ready to crumble at any moment?

Wilson Mooney Eighteen at Last by Gretchen de la O

Well, I reviewed the first book in this series Wilson Mooney Almost Eighteen . Basically, the first book started off slow and I didn't like it much but it got better and it was good, not great but good. It at least made me want to know what was going to happen with Max & Wilson. So here I am just finished the next book and what did I think about it?

Description:

Chained by unfortunate timing and restricted by society’s expectations, every choice Wilson and Max make becomes pivotal to their future together.

Eager to take their relationship to the next level, Wilson returns to Aspen with Max to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. When an uncontrollable situation leads to a split-second decision, both will be tested like never before. Butterflies will soar, hearts will clash, and Wilson’s relationship with Max will spin into a silken cocoon with choices that seem too impossible to overcome.

Could it be…uncovering the deep ache that lays dormant in their hearts will become the real threat to their forbidden love? Or will the pressures of keeping their relationship a secret be too much to bear?

Add it to your TBR list on Goodreads, and while your at it go ahead and add the next book in the series, Beyond Eighteen also.

My review: 5 stars
OMG! This was an emotional read. It had me smiling and thinking all was perfect in the world with the only worry being would Wilson & Max be able to keep their secret for just a little longer or would Cindy the Bitch work her magic? Then it ripped my heart out and stomped on it hard until it was crushed into a million piece. My poor heart! Next it didn't get much better it took those pieces of my heart and stomped some more. Finally it came to an end but only to leave me hanging to wonder what was going to happen. I was cursing myself for finishing the book before the next one came out. How was I going to make it through until it comes out. Thankfully Gretchen de la O is a kind person and put a neat little password code in to the back of the book so I could get a break and read some of chapter one for the next book. OH THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS!

Now, the first book was not that great and I debated on reading this one but I am so glad that Max & Wilson's story kept nagging at me to find out what happened. This book was amazing. Although it has the forbidden love of a teacher and a student it is now between two adults and the story is great. Kind of like a modern day Romeo & Juliet. Instead of a love between two fighting families it is a love between an 18 year old student and 22 yr old teacher. Really a great story and everyone who likes a good love story should read it. I can't hardly wait for the next book Beyond Eighteen and I am going to be ready for anything with it. Congratulations Gretchen on a great book. I wish you much success. I have found a new author that I am going to keep an eye on for anything that comes out by her.

My review: 4 stars
Restore My Heart
This was good. It was a little hard to read at first and there were a lot of mistakes in the first few pages. I almost put it down, but it got better. The story was really good ones it got going and the characters were described well. I loved Ryder, he is a bad boy with a BIG heart and just lovable. Dina, is trying to be strong and is a smart independent women who just wants to make her friends happy. I have a thing for stories that have a strong characters that are rebuilding their lives or are finding the strength and courage to move forward after tragedy and of course bad boys with big hearts. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the ending. It kind a ended with no warning or build up to the next book. It almost seemed like it was longer and the writer just cut it off to make two books and with the description for the next book at the end of this one I really hope this story continues and doesn't just end to start a story about the other couples. I will read the next one not only because I was asked to by the author but because I hope she improved her writing and to see what plays out with this story. Not much more to say about it other than it was good and it was a first book so give her a chance to do better next time. It is short so it doesn't take long to read .

Warning tiny bit of a spoiler so if you don't want to know anything about the next book other than you really should give it a chance STOP NOW! Just know that you want to read the first book so you can read the next because you DO NOT want to miss it!
If you are ok with knowing a little more of what the second book is about that is not mentioned in the description processed.

My review: 5 stars
Salvaged
Ok! So, you just read my review of the first book Restore My Heart. It was ok, I would even go as far to say it was good, but....... Chelsea Camaron has redeemed herself! I saw potential in her writing and am so glad I gave the second book a chance. This book was so much better. It still had several mistakes and that is just a pet peeve of mine because I feel it interrupts the flow, but that just means she needs to edit better or have someone else do the editing. The characters and the story were great. We get to learn more about all the characters from the first book and then there are some new ones brought in to. I actually cried in several parts. In the first book you could not feel the emotions like in this one. I was also very happy that it continued Dina & Ryder's story. I really was worried that she was going to just end their story with no real finish to it. In the description of this book it sounds like it is just going to be the story of Dina's best friend Maggie and her long time boyfriend Brayden. It is still a short and  fast read but still very good, I think I can go as far as saying it was great. Yes, I definitely can IT WAS GREAT! I really want to read the next one. Much better than the first and so glad she has grown as a writer. Good job Chelsea Camaron. Looking forward to reading more of your writing and continuing to watch you grow as a writer.

On a side not I found out that the first two books in the series are being reedited and updated. Also, found out that each book has a main couple it focuses on but you continue to learn more about all the characters. I like this because I feel like my relationship with my book friends are growing over time as well and that is a great thing.

Next up from Chelsea is Beyond Repair and a bonus story called Full Throttle both expected for release in summer 2013.

First a message from me to K. Pinson- OH MY GAWD WOMAN YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL ME AREN'T YOU? Daxton makes me happy in the pants too.

Ok. I feel better sort of .........not really. So, I'll share a not so secret secret with y'all. I LOVE DAX! Yep in my mind he is MINE! It's ok, because Ava and I have agreed to share him. We have this whole thing worked out in my mind. lol  Seriously though are you ready for my review which is going to be hard since I HATE spoiling even a little bit for you. Well, here goes.

My review: 5 stars
This is a great book and I loved it. I was honored to be a beta reader for her and read the first few chapters. I instantly fell in love with Daxton and my obsession began. lol Out of this I also became friends with a wonderful person. K. Pinson did a wonderful job on her debut book and as she has learned from it I know that she will grow as a writer and all her future work will only get better. In Spades is a heart warming story. The characters come to life and grab hold of your heart. You can feel everything that Ava feels. Little Abby not only grabs your heart but she wraps you around her little finger. She is feisty and full of life and you just can't help but smile when she is around. Daxton is a hot, sexy, tattooed musician who also happens to be a music therapist who loves kids and is great with them. What isn't there to love about that.**swoon, fans self, back on track** Then there is Krissi Adams. What to say about her, well....first the character is inspired by Kris Adams. Yep, from the fun with Joe & Kris page. Her & K. Pinson worked together on this character. I am not sure I am going to like her character much but you will have to read the book to see what you think of her and why I say that. Now I will warn you there is a major heart breaking cliff hanger that will leave you wanting to track down K. Pinson and ask her what the heck she was thinking and why she would do such a thing to you. Don't worry K I got your back and I will protect you because I want the next book. So, go buy the book, read it, and see what you think. It really is a great book and I look forward to more from this wonderful author.

Where to buy:

Since I am so in love with Daxton I am going to leave you with a little visual from K. Pinson's author page from facebook and on the web. EYE CANDY!!! Just a few versions of what some have said remind them of Dax. I'll admit when I first read for her I thought of Joe Marvullo.

Now go read it and see what you think Dax looks like.

this is just my favorite quote I think it was made by @mollykaur for K. Pinson.

My review: 3 stars
I was contacted by Gretchen de la O with a request to read her book. So, I read the synopsis she sent (which is up above) and thought well that sound like it could be good. Plus I wanted to know why they had to keep their weekend a secret. I downloaded it to my Kindle and started. Now on to the review. Well, to be honest (which I am) I had a very hard time. It was slow and I just couldn't get into it. I actually thought to myself "I can't read this!" This is something that rarely happens but sometimes it does. I try to finish anything I read even if I hope it gets better through the entire book. I commented to some friends that I was trying to read a book that I just couldn't get into and one of them asked how far in was I. I responded with "well only 15% but it has taken me 2 days to get there" that is when she said "well maybe it is one you should just give up on". That is all it took I couldn't give up, not yet. So, later that night I picked it back up and started again. At about 25% in I was SOOOOOOOOO glad I didn't give up on it. It really turned out to be a good book. I'll admit it wasn't OMG GREAT but it was good. From the title Wilson Mooney Almost Eighteen you know it is high school kids and the synopsis tells you that Wilson is a girl with a boy's name and that she is in boarding school. That maybe why it was hard to get into at first because it was high school stuff. Anyway, then "the weekend" begins and it picks up a lot and gets good. I won't tell you why it got good or why they had to keep the weekend a secret because that would be no fun and ruin it. So if you read it remember it is slow but only at the beginning and then it is good and I didn't want to put it down. Also, it is a series and it left me wanting more. So I have downloaded the second book called Wilson Mooney Eighteen at Last and will begin reading it soon. I want to know what happens because there is a cliffhanger not a bad one just a little one enough to make you want more. So, over all it was good and if you can just bare with the beginning then I'm sure you will like it. I mean it has a sweet sexy guy, an innocent smart girl, and.............(here is a hint) SCANDAL!!! (wicked snickering here) ;)

My Review: 5 star
OMG this was wonderful! No it was flaming hot. It has sexy men in uniforms and who doesn't like a man in uniform? You have firefighters, police, and doctors. Faith gives up everything for the greater good, or so she thinks. John thinks she just gave him up, but now years later, he knows he was wrong and he is going to fight for all he wants. All he wants is Faith. There are so many thing going on in this book that you just want to keep reading until you are done and then you want to make sure that Ms. Wilde is not disturbed until she is done writing the next one. There are happy moments, scary moments, and then the heart wrenching rip your heart into millions of pieces moments. It all makes for a fantastic read. Can't wait to find out what happens next.
