DESPERATION OF LOVE (Of Love #2) by Alice Montalvo-Tribue
To the outside world, Jordan Burke appears to have the perfect life. A fulfilling career, family and great friends, but looks can be deceiving. Events from her childhood, and a painful secret, keep Jordan isolated and unwilling to commit to any man. For her, every relationship comes with its own expiration date.
Alex Garza has lived in the shadow of his brother’s fame for most of his life. He's an outcast in his own family and never able to put his own needs first. When his brother gives up his career to settle down, Alex is forced to reevaluate his life plans too. Over the past year, his friendship with Jordan has developed into a source of comfort. Now that he has the time to devote to a relationship, can he convince her to take a chance on love or will their painful pasts and a tragic event destroy their future?
My Review: 5+ stars because there is too much awesomeness for anything less
OMGooooooodneeeeeesssssssss I LOVED THIS BOOK! It is one of those books that you search for someone else who has read it because you want to tell them and talk to them about it. There are so many great things about this book but if I tell you then I give stuff away and I hate spoiling things for people. The way that the characters are written is amazing and it really lets you get to know them a little better. Now, this is the second book in the series so if you haven’t read Translation of Love then go get it NOW (it’s is on sale right now for a limited time) and read it. So our favorite characters are back in this one. You know who they are (unless you didn’t read the first book that you should) Victor, Elle, Jordan, Alex, Mamma Garza, and a few others. I admit I wanted to slap Jordan and then punch Alex at times but most of the time I love them both and my heart hurt for them. I thought I was going to have to hunt Alice Montalvo-Tribue down! Of course I can’t tell you why because that would be a spoiler. There is just so much emotion in this book and you are loving character one minute and then hating them the next and then back to loving them. You question how things can happen and then get your answers and it hits you like a brick wall. SO MANY THINGS I want to talk about but you just need to read it yourself. One thing that I got out of this is a reminder that things aren’t always what they seem and that sometimes there are great reasons for things that happen and that we should give people a chance or a second chance, because you might find out they have changed or that they are a better person than you thought. Who knows maybe they just need someone to help them see their own greatness, to help them be a better person. Of course there are always a few exceptions to every rule. Now go buy the book (or books) and read. Let me know if you enjoyed it as much as I did.
