The Hope That Starts by Heidi Hutchinson

Happy Release Day Heidi Hutchinson!!!!

You can never have too much music... or mayonnaise.
It's sort of been Harrison O'Neil's credo for the better part of his life.
At least since he first discovered his love for playing the guitar and developed a taste for gourmet sandwiches. He couldn't pinpoint which one happened first, and it didn't matter to him. Food and music have always been equally important.

If there's one thing Zelda Fitzpatrick is good at, it's fandom. She can out-nerd the nerdiest, her devotion knows no bounds. Her love is true, her motives pure. Oh, and she's also a talented freelance photographer, newly hired to go on the road with her favorite band, Double Blind Study. All she has to do is not ruin this opportunity with her plethora of Tolkien references (which are in abundance), or the fan girl inside who has a mind of her own.

And she definitely shouldn't fall madly in love with lead guitarist, Harrison O'Neil... who is taken. Unfortunately.

Zelda is more than the band's new photographer. She loves Star Trek, Doctor Who, and making gourmet sandwiches. This puts Harrison O'Neil in the very awkward position of loving Zelda's sandwiches—with their perfect ingredients, and impeccable construction, and their ability to make his heart happy without even trying—and being in a relationship with another woman... who thinks he should cut out eating sandwiches entirely.

Which one will win out, his heart or his stomach?
Is there a difference?

This story is an ode to a fan girl. Because, male or female, we all have one inside of us. And sometimes, on the rarest and most wonderful of occasions, the fan girl's dream gets displayed in all of it's beauty.

The Double Blind Study series continues. Each book in the series focuses on one band member at a time and they can all be read on their own.
If this book were a movie, it would be rated PG-13.

 5 stars
I have loved all the Double Blind Study books but I must say this one is my favorite. I was a little worried because I was told this one was different from the others. It was but in a great way. I was in love with Zelda from the start. She was fun and sweet and not the typical lead in the books I have been reading. She just seemed like the girl next door and I wanted to be friends with her. I could see myself being friends with her she was just so fun and down to earth. The best thing about her was she didn’t really care what others thought of her and I loved it about her.
Harrison has always been my favorite of the guys and if he wasn’t he is without a doubt now. He is such a sweet guy and just needs someone to love him. I was a little surprised at all the insecurities he has but it just made me love him more.
This story is filled with feels and a fantastic read. It is going to be hard to take the top read away from this one. It is at the top of my best read list and it is a must read.  I know you will love it and you need to get just be prepared to stay up all night reading because once you start it you will not want to put it down.  It was that amazing.

Heidi Hutchinson was born in South Dakota and raised the exact right distance away from the Black Hills. She had an overactive imagination very early on, and wasted no time in getting most of her friends in trouble due to her unrealistic and completely ridiculous ideas. Seeing as she was so lazy and also afraid people would think she was bonkers, she didn't write down any of the story lines that played out in her daydreams.

During her high school years, she took pen to paper and filled more notebooks than she is proud of with angsty, depressing, self-depreciating poetry. This led to her writing down more things: notes, ideas, character bios, plot twists that had no plot yet to twist. After years of cleaning up her own scraps of imagination with nothing solid to hold on to, she sat down and wrote the story that had been in her head the longest. Fueled by coffee and her unwavering and perfectly normal devotion to Dave Grohl, she discovered a writer living inside of her.

She still lives in the Midwest, though not as close to the Black Hills as she would prefer, with her alarmingly handsome husband and their fearless child. They eat more pizza than God intended and she listens to her music the same way she lives: loudly.

Blurb:

You can’t choose who you fall in love with. Despite knowing from a young age that he was gay, Scott Murphy couldn’t imagine life without Shelly. He threw away the labels and had eleven amazing years with her, but now, he feels even more lost trying to figure out how to move on after Shelly’s death. After nearly a year of watching Scott fade away, Shelly’s father forces him to start living again.

As much as Chris loathes the idea of attending a bereavement group week after week, it’s one of the only places he can go in this town, other than the bar, to not feel so alone. When there’s nothing to distract him or dull his senses, he spends too much time obsessing over how he should have been able to help his sister. When Scott shows up at his group session, Chris decides that maybe some good can come out of his sister’s death.

There’s no denying that Chris is the first man to catch Scott’s attention in a long time, but how can he move on when just thinking of Shelly sends him to his dark place?

The road to recovery won’t be an easy one, but Chris is determined to help Scott see that life is still worth living. But before Scott can allow himself to admit what he feels for Chris, he knows he has to reveal the full truth about Shelly’s death.

Release Date: Spring 2015

Steam billows out of the room, creating an ethereal haze around my best friend, who’s wearing nothing but a towel wrapped low around his hips and a cocky smirk on his face. I’m about to cuss him out because he’s not supposed to get the patch of gauze over his eye wet, but I notice that he’s dry from the neck up.
“You keep gawking at me like that and I might start getting ideas,” Mason teases. He stalks toward me and I back up, hoping his gaze doesn’t travel lower than my chest because I have a problem building below the waist. I reach out for the banister, stopping myself before I tumble down the stairs. A normal person would stop, but it’s quickly becoming apparent to me that Mason is anything but normal.
I swallow hard as Mason continues closing the gap between us. My mouth is dry and I struggle to form words. “Mace, what are you doing?”
“Am I making you nervous?” he asks, reaching up to run his fingers down the length of my chest. He’s making me many things right now, and anxious is somewhere near the bottom of the list.
“Damn, how hard did I hit you?” I ask, forcing a laugh. “I think you need to go lie down, because you’re obviously delusional right now.”
Mason takes one more step toward me, stopping when he’s so close I can feel his breath ghosting across my neck. His hand slides down to rest on my hip. “Or maybe I’m thinking clearly for the first time in my life,” he whispers.
It’d be so easy for me to close my eyes and take what he’s about to give me, but I can’t. No matter how much I want him to lean in and brush his lips against mine, the fulfillment of my fantasy isn’t worth throwing away years of friendship.
I place my hands on his chest and push him away. When I open my eyes, I see him staring at me through one sad, rich brown eye. I wonder for a moment if my heart would be breaking twice as much if not for the bandage covering the other. “Mason, stop. You don’t know what you’re doing.”
“Fuck that,” he argues. “Like I said, for the first time in a long fucking time, I know exactly what I’m doing.”

He covers my hands with his own and I can feel the searing, damp heat against his skin. Even more, I can feel his heart racing against my palm. I stare at him, leaning in centimeter by centimeter, giving him the opportunity to stop this insanity. My eyes drift closed and I can feel his ragged puffs of breath against my lips—

Happy Release Day Alice Montalvo-Tribue

They told me I’d be an escort; they made it sound so easy.

Really I’m just a high priced call girl.

Desperation brought me to this and it led me to him, my one and only client.

Hating him is easy, he reminds me of my shame.

Wanting him is wrong it fills me with guilt.

Loving him is a losing battle yet it’s become everything.

A gift and a curse, he consumes my every thought and I’d rather play my part in his bed than to spend one day without him.

 5 stars
OH MY GOODNESS!!! That was my thought through most of this book. It was so amazing that I was lost for words. I know that I was basically getting a story about a high priced hooker but it was NOTHING like what I thought it was going to be like.

I'll start with Sage because I really liked her and I felt bad for her. I mean she had been living in hell. She had a crappy family (when you read it you will know why) and then she had the even crappier ex. Then on top of all that she needs a new job and one that will make her some money. I really liked Sage and the more the story when on the more I feel in love with her.

Now we have Jackson. When he first came into the story I thought "what a complete ass". Then it went on and I thought "Oh my God I want to reach in and slap him, no punch him and then kick him in the balls for good measure". Yeah, I didn't like him at all. BUT he grew on me and soon I was falling in love with this sweet yet pigheaded man.

So, how could I love a story about a high priced hooker and an man who is a complete ass so much. Well, simple. There is so much more to this story than that. It is filled with emotions that neither want to show because they feel it is a weakness and they both want more out of life than what they had. Now the question is do they find what they are looking for in each other?

You will have to read it to find out but I will say they both go through some ups and downs and learn a lot about themselves and each other along the way. It is a great read and it is out today so you should go grab your copy and start it.

COVER REVEAL Godsend by Sloan Johnson

Title: Godsend
Author: Sloan Johnson

Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s life. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.

When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.

Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?

Now, Sloan is a tattooed mom with a mohawk and two kids. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself with a good book and forget she has somewhere to be.
