My grandfather had once told me that life was an unpredictable beast—one moment calm with a full belly and heavy eyes, and the next, digging its paws in the dirt, snarling just before it took down its next victim. Until recently, I would argue with that notion, listing all the reasons why my life was as predictable as the tides coming and going. While I listened, I was young and never put much thought into a lot of the things my grandfather told me, but all that changed when the Hunters moved back to Sandpoint. More specifically, Wes Hunter. That was when the impossible became possible and the predictable became unpredictable.

As Abigail Rose looked down on her new world, she couldn’t deny the things she had seen and all the things she had learned. There were days she wished she could go back to her old life, but she had changed. Evolved. She was no longer a love-struck seventeen year old. She was a chosen leader and her path was undeniable. The black and white was fading to gray, and the only thing between mortals and immortals was her.

 4 stars
I am so happy Dani Hart is back with this new release. I absolutely love her writing. It has been a long time since I have stayed up until 4 in the morning to finish a book. This paranormal romance is gripping and Dani Hart leads you into a world that is exciting. Now, that I have gushed my happy on to the book.

As I started reading this I really wasn't sure what to expect but I knew it would be magical. It starts with your typical teenage girl, Abigail Rose, and her normal life. She just wants to finish school and get through life while trying to forget Wes, the boy she loved a few years back. He left town after a tragic accident. Leaving Abi feeling broken and trying to pull herself back together and live life. She keeps to herself and has just her best friend, Kendra. Until one day just before school starts back and her whole life changes. Wes and his family have returned and she learns more than she dreamed she would and that makes this story. Along with Abigail, Kendra and the Hunters we also meet Elijah Winters and Kendra's brother, Jack. I fell in love with Wes and Elijah. There is something about Jack that just leaves me wanting to know more about him. This story grabs you and holds on to you. Making you want to know what will happen next. I found myself smiling, close to tears, swooning, and my heart racing trying to figure out what was going to happen. The only bad thing about this is it left me wanting more NOW. I am very glad to know that there is more of the story coming. I am excited to see what comes next and what will happen with Abigail and all the characters. CAN"T WAIT FOR MORE!
